Northern Trust Opens Whittle Jones Scottish Office

Northern Trust (www.northerntrust.co.uk) is pleased to announce that following the recent expansion of their Scottish portfolio, they have opened a new Whittle Jones regional office at their Earls Court office development in Grangemouth, Scotland.  Northern Trust’s portfolio is actively managed by their in-house surveying practice, Whittle Jones Group Ltd (www.whittlejones.com), who already has regional offices in Birmingham, Chorley, Wakefield and Newcastle.

During 2017 Northern Trust has acquired over 300,000 sq ft of industrial space in Scotland and continues to look for further opportunities to grow its Scottish portfolio. There are also two development sites which when built out could add a further 100,000 sq ft of industrial accommodation.

This portfolio now extends from Dumfries, northwards to Wishaw and Cumbernauld and eastwards to Grangemouth, Livingston and the west of Edinburgh. In total there are 6 industrial estates and 1 office park providing over 364,000 sq ft of space in 70 units.

Northern Trust Acquires Again in Wishaw, Motherwell

Northern Trust (www.northerntrust.co.uk) is pleased to announce that it has acquired an additional 4 units at Excelsior Park totalling 30,054 sq ft. The new acquisition takes the company’s ownership at Excelsior Park to circa 150,000 sq ft.

Northern Trust has in recent months announced a number of acquisitions in Scotland as it continues in its plans to expand its Scottish portfolio which now covers over 360,000 sq ft in 70 units.

Northern Trust Secures Planning Consent for New 450 Unit Housing Scheme in Telford

Northern Trust Company Ltd has announced that it has successfully gained outline planning permission for up to 450 houses on their 76 acre site located off Redhill Way in Telford.

The outline plans include a range of house types, of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes with 35% affordable. The plans also see the creation of a retail unit and a public house.

Northern Trust Announces Major Refurbishment Scheme at West Chirton

Following confirmation of Northern Trust’s successful planning application to build up to 400 homes on the southern part of their West Chirton (South) Industrial Estate, the company has announced that it also plans to complete a major refurbishment of its industrial premises situated on the northern part of the site, adjacent to Tesco’s.

The estate is a former munitions building built in 1940 and now totals circa 70,000 sq ft. 25,000 sq ft of accommodation is to be subdivided into 5 separate units. The circa £1m investment into the estate will see the subdivided units benefit from a new roof, external cladding, loading / personnel doors and utility services together with full redecoration.

Two other blocks of units ranging from 580 sq ft up to 1,695 sq ft and totalling 20,169 sq ft will also benefit from a similar facelift to vastly improve the industrial offering in the area.

Northern Trust Scores a Hat Trick with Third Acquisition

Northern Trust Gets Planning Consent for Up to 400 Houses on West Chirton Site

Northern Trust Company Ltd has announced that it has successfully gained outline planning permission for up to 400 houses on the southern part of their West Chirton (South) Industrial Estate in North Shields.

The outline plans include three new access junctions on Norham Road and a proportion of affordable housing. The site is ideally located being just 2 miles from North Shields town centre and only 7 miles from Newcastle City Centre.

A spokesperson for Northern Trust commented “We are pleased to have gained planning permission for regeneration of this derelict site, which will bring significant investment into the area and provide considerable benefit to the local community.”
