NORTHERN TRUST COMPLETES MAJOR SUSTAINABILITY AND FACILITIES UPGRADE AT CENTRIX @ KEYS, CANNOCK

Northern Trust Company Ltd is pleased to announce the completion of major upgrade works at its 21,608 sq ft Centrix @ Keys office building in Cannock. The works form part of Northern Trust’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and enhancing occupier wellbeing, with significant investment in both low-carbon technologies and tenant facilities.
The upgrades have included the installation of a solar PV system delivered by Thompsons Solar, and a new energy-efficient air source heat pump system installed by Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd. Together, these improvements will reduce the property’s carbon footprint and deliver improved environmental efficiency and occupier comfort via Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) technologies.
James McSorley of Energy Rating Services Ltd, who designed the project on behalf of Northern Trust commented: “Centrix @ Keys is a fantastic example of how thoughtful investment in low-carbon technology can deliver real value for both landlord and tenant. The combined solar PV and heat pump upgrades will provide a more sustainable and efficient energy strategy for the building, significantly reducing running costs and carbon emissions.”

Additional works have focused on improving shared facilities, with the creation of a central breakout area with a shop facility, two new meeting room spaces, and refurbishment of the reception area to provide a modern and welcoming environment for occupiers and visitors alike.

The business centre, currently home to 32 different businesses supporting more than 200 jobs, offers a range of flexible workspace solutions. Suites are available from 118 sq ft (1 person) up to 959 sq ft (12 people), making it ideal for both start-ups, and growing businesses.
