Northern Trust is a long-term property investor with a retained portfolio extending to over 9 million sq ft, across more than 200 industrial, trade counter and office locations throughout the UK.
The portfolio comprises more than 4,000 individual units, the vast majority of which are occupied by small and medium-sized businesses, supporting more than 25,000 jobs.
Industrial accommodation ranges from approximately 285 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft, while office accommodation is available from suites suitable for a single person upwards. This diverse portfolio enables Northern Trust to provide flexible accommodation for businesses at different stages of their growth, from start-ups and small businesses through to established occupiers requiring larger premises.
The portfolio extends from the South Midlands to the central belt of Scotland and is actively managed by Northern Trust's Regional Teams, based in the North West, North East, Yorkshire, Midlands and Scotland.
Through recent acquisitions and development, almost 1 million sq ft has been added to the portfolio over the last two years. Northern Trust continues to seek investment opportunities that complement its existing portfolio across all regions.
As a long-term investor, rather than a developer or trader of assets, Northern Trust takes a long-term approach to maximising returns through the provision of secure, well-maintained employment and business premises.
Significant ongoing investment is made across the existing portfolio to ensure occupiers have well-presented properties that provide a positive environment in which to operate, attract employees and grow their businesses.
Northern Trust has substantial funds available for further investment and is interested in opportunities to acquire individual assets and portfolios of multi-let industrial, trade counter and office properties across the UK.
