Transformation of Derelict Allscott Sugar Beet Plant Site One Step Closer

Plans to transform the former Sugar Beet Plant site at Allscott into a mixed development featuring new homes, a primary school and sports facilities have today been submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council.

If approved the now derelict site would be transformed into a mixed community including:

  • up to 470 new homes
  • a new sports & social club
  • a single form entry primary school
  • community allotments
  • a business hub
  • a health centre, pharmacy and local shops
  • biodiversity enhancements
  • new public open
  • over £1m of improvements to local roads

Northern Trust has been working with the local community to develop the plans since October 2012. Throughout the consultation process the site’s regeneration has enjoyed over 90% support from participants.

It is expected that a decision will be made on the outline planning application in Spring 2014. More details can be found on the dedicated website at www.shawbirchroad.co.uk
