HISTORY

• An established farm on the main road between Pontefract and Featherstone.
• An agreement was signed in July 2010 with handover for Metacre/Northern Trust to actively promote residential development through the emerging Wakefield MDC Local Development Framework.

APPROACH

• An assessment was made of other potential allocations, and a full master plan/vision document produced.
• Assessment made of other potential allocations.
• Representations were submitted through Local Development Framework site Allocations DPD consultation.
• Case to be presented to inspector at examination in public during 2011.

STATUS

• Northern Trust is in the process of promoting the site through Local Development Framework process.
• Northern Trust will monitor housing supply situations to realise earlier submission of the planning application.
• Northern Trust are aiming to achieve allocation/or outline consent by end of 2012.
