







Northern Trust has a long history of working up planning permissions and maximising returns. This area grew following a 3,000 acreage acquisition in 1992. With further acquisitions being made a dedicated division was established to procure new land regeneration opportunities and promote large land holdings.
With a land holding of over 5,000 acres the Land & Regeneration department’s role is to promote and develop land opportunities through the planning system including:
Operating throughout England, Scotland and Wales, the team along with landowners, developers, local authorities, communities and other key stakeholders promote and deliver large scale development projects.

With an already successful disposal strategy, the land team work closely with both house builders and special purchasers on bringing forward mixed use regeneration schemes, on either a straight sale of joint venture basis. Please see list of sites currently for sale.

Hemsby

Leyland
A 5.5 acre Greenfield site located on Centurion Way, Leyland


Bolton
A Brownfield land fill site covering approximately 5 acres, located in Westhoughton, Bolton. Former municipal refuse tip and associated derelict land with severe contamination and remediation issues.

Blackpool
A 38 acre, former holiday camp site situated close to Blackpool Airport. Phase 1 covers approximately 20 acres of the site.

Wesham
A Greenfield site on fringe of Wesham, extending to approximately 36 acres, forming part of an agricultural landholding extending to c.110 acres. The land is adjacent to a biological heritage site with areas of Grade 1 agricultural land.

Weeton
As part of Northern Trust's ongoing asset management review, a parcel of land extending to approximately 0.55 acres was identified as having potential to provide a small scale infill development in the village of Weeton. This parcel of land forms part of the Company's Fylde Coast Strategic Land portfolio.

Harrogate
The site covering approximately 7.1 acres is situated to the rear of the Old Swan listed hotel in Harrogate.

Chorley
Small parcel of land located on Foxhole Road, Chorley covering 0.3 acres.



Langton Brow, Eccleston
The site was sold to Barratt Homes following successful planning consent for 70 homes.



Rochdale
An 8 acre site acquired for mixed use development from Mytravel in Rochdale.



Preston
A 12 acre site within the Preston City Council Local Authority area. The site is currently open land allocated as recreational green-space within the adopted local plan.


Hyde
A brownfield site adjacent to East Tame Business Park, Talbot Road in Hyde.


Rainworth, Nottingham
A 15 acre site within the Green Belt, South of Rainworth and within the Newark and Sherwood Local Authority Area.


West Chirton (South) Industrial Estate, North Shields, Newcastle
A 31 acre former munitions factory allocated for employment within the North Tyneside MBC Local Plan.
